Travel light: but make sure you are carrying lot of entertainment stuff such as handy games, books or toys for your kids to play. It is also a universal truth that they get bored easily and very soon. Keeping this in mind, you must have a good stock of these items. It is okay if you carry lesser clothes, but carry loads of CDs, books, games and toys.
Food: Stuff your vehicle with various food varieties. Kids love eating frequently. They eat within short intervals, so it is a good idea to keep food stuff within their reach. So they can choose their favourite and have it without troubling you.
Travel clever: Plan your departure while they are asleep. This will help you travel longer distance. Take frequent breaks during journey. So they get to stretch out a bit and you too do not feel the fatigue of travelling. Take stops at places where you can find activities for kids or places with kids’ interests such as a park or museum etc.
Be flexible: with your timings. You know, it is never so easy with kids. So allow them to have their time. Do not be rigid by sticking to your plan and time line. This may not work. But relax and enjoy your time together. Alter your plans if the need be.
After all it is the journey that matters than reaching destination.
