All weather tires are not as "jack of all weather and master of none" as many think.   Almost all SUVs coming out of showrooms are with all-weather tires. It is not without reason for such great car companies to opt for SUV all-weather tires.  But it changes as per the climatic conditions where you live. Hence the following positives and negatives s of all-weather tires will help you navigate safely in all weathers.

Positive features of all-weather tires:

1.     Financial viability:

For many buying a car with their hard-earned money today is a daunting task.   An additional burden of another 1000 dollars for an extra pair of tires is mind-boggling and not possible by all. Also compared to winter tires all-weather tires are cheaper.

2.     Time saver:

In the busy schedule of running from pillar to post to make ends meet, the time for changing the tires is a tough task.  Also, to do it twice during winter could be a hard time for many people.

3.     No place to keep safe of the extra tires:

In this apartment styled life there is no space to keep the costly extra tires safe in the house for its use again in next winter.

4.     Round the year:

Irrespective of the weather all-weather tires are safe throughout the year. Any road is a good road with all-weather tires.

5.     Fuel efficient:

Since most of the latest, all-weather tires come with the latest technology, it fights fuel consumption to be the best fuel-efficient tires.

Negative features of all-weather tires:

1.      Not safe in areas below -40 degree Fahrenheit:

Though all-weather tires are safe on icy and snowy roads, it is not advisable to drive them on deep snow.  For those living in areas below -40 degree Fahrenheit, it is not the right tire in terms of safety and convenience.

2.      Technically it is unsafe to drive all-weather tires during winter:

·        During rising snow on the roads, it could become more tricky and treacherous for all-weather tires. Many experts have found them unfit in severe snow weather due to:

·        All weather tires are more equipped for light snow rather than heavy snow

·        The tires treads will harden reducing the traction between the tire and the road

·        The more the cold, all-weather tires lose more of their elasticity, bringing down their performance level and their life span.

·        The shallow tread patterns help in providing smooth rides with all-weather tires during summer. But during snow time it makes driving hard and unsafe with fewer grips of them on the ice or snow.

SUV all-weather tires with their positives and negatives considered as per the climate of your area will make life and driving safety.
